Maja Classen

MAJA CLASSEN. Writer, Director, Artist, Teacher, Lover and Mother. Her work represents her compassion for authentic people, different subcultures, music, dance, sexuality, but also human rights and equality. Her projects are often hybrids between different visual formats, combining raw documentary style, with poetic and experimental forms. Her diverse projects have a deep connection to peoples emotional core, which translates immediate empathy in the audience. Maja was born in Heidelberg, grew up in Hamburg, lived in San Francisco and eventually found her home in Berlin, where she studied directing at the Film University Babelsberg. Her Films have been screened at International Film Festivals, such as the Berlinale, on TV and have won various awards.
